Good News and Bad News
The Bad News is that the DigitPad 1000 has been discontinued and is no longer in stock. The Good News is that we have a new model called the DigitPad 1500 that has all the great features of the previous model plus several awesome new features.

  • Full Sized Keys - Both the DP1000 and the DP1500 have the feature that is most important to accountants, data entry clerks, and serious number crunchers. They have Big Full Sized keys! In fact, they are just as big or in some cases bigger than the keys on a 10 key from a full sized keyboard. In the accounting world, bigger is certainly better - To a certain degree, of course. I mean you wouldn't want a totally gigantic keypad, because then you would have to go back to 1 finger typing. Don't worry the DP1500 is the perfect kind of BIG for most people.

  • Back Space Key - Oh, the mighty Back Space key. This feature is so important that it might be the most important feature for some people. The back space gives the DigitPad 1500 Numeric Keypad true independence from the main computer keyboard. Sorry to put down the DP1000 and many other numeric keypads, but if you don't have a Backspace key, you remain dependant on the main computer keyboard to delete mistakes. The DP1500 gives you the power to fix typos and other data mistakes on the fly with its built-in erase key.

  • Calculator Pop Up Key - What in the world is a "Calculator Pop Up Key"? Well, if you're an accountant you are already familiar with something called the *Windows Calculator. For all those non-accountant people, the Windows Calculator is a very handy utility that comes with the Windows operating system and it allows you to pop up a little calculator anytime you need to crunch some numbers. My only complaint is that unless you put a short cut to the calculator on your desktop, it takes a little time to find it in the accessories section of the program files. That's where the Calculator Pop Up Key comes to play. It allows you to Pop Up the Windows Calculator at the touch of a single button. Now you don't have to worry about searching for that little pocket calculator in the back of your desk drawer anymore. It probably has dead batteries anyway.

  • The Escape Key - Sometimes being an accountant can be very stressful and I'm sure there are times when you wish you had an Escape Button that would transport you to an exotic desert island where you could relax, take off your shoes, and walk on the beach. The DP1500 comes with something I've never seen on a numeric keypad before. It comes with an Escape Button! Well, it's not going to transport your to a tropical island, but it can take you out of data entry screens and various other functions depending on the program.

  • The Double Zero Key - This is like a double barrel shotgun for nerdy accountants. The Double Zero key allows you to double enter 2 zeros at a time. In other words you can press "1" and then press the "00" key and boom you have 100. I wish I could do that with money. Ha ha ha ha.

  • My Computer Shortcut Key - This is a shortcut button to my computer. No, it's not a short cut to my computer. It's a short cut to an icon on your computer called "My Computer". So basically this button gives you quick and easy access to your hard drives and computer files all at the touch of a single button.

  • Powered by USB - The DigitPad 1500 is powered by USB, which makes it compatible with most computers. The only downside to the DP1500 vs DP1000, is that as you recall the DigitPad 1000 used to come with a handy PS/2 adapter. Well, we figured that the year is 2009 and USB has been around since 1994 and that it was time to bite the bullet. Therefore, the DigitPad 1500 does not come with a PS/2 adapter because we figure the vast majority of computers now support the USB protocol.

  • Num-Lock Key - What is a Num Lock key? If you take a look at the keypad of the DigitPad 1500 you will notice that not only does it have numbers printed on the keys, but it also has little arrows and other words like "Home", "PgUp", "End", "PgDn", "Ins", and "Del". The Num-Lock key is a toggle switch that allows you to switch back and forth between Number Mode and what I call Arrow Key mode. Personally, the only time I use the Num-Lock key is to switch it back to Number Mode in the case where I accidentally pressed the Num-Lock. The only time I think the "Arrow Key Mode" would be useful is if you're using it for a special function like to control a video game or something like that. Otherwise, I'm glad it comes with a bright Num-Lock Indicator Light, so I can tell just by glancing at the keypad whether I'm in Number Mode. The DigitPad engineers must think like me because Indicator lights up when it is in Number Mode.

  • Slim Line Design - The DigitPad 1500 has a slim line design, but it also has a very interesting aesthetics as well. If you take a side view of the DP1500 you will notice the sleek curves at the top and bottom. It seems like the accountant types always choose function over cosmetics. However, with new design of the DP 1500 we might see the likes of a new trend where accountants and other people start purchasing keypads based on looks. Just imagine what the DP1500 would look like on your desk and how much it might impress your boss or your customers. It's important for to look professional and the DigitPad 1500 is one sharp looking keypad.

What is a Numeric Keypad? - Good question. A numeric keypad is a stand alone 10 key number pad device that lets you enter numeric data into your desktop or laptop computer. It makes data entry faster and easier. Great for accountants or tax preparers
